The History of Pigments
An interesting article on the history of pigments. It discusses the use of Lapis Lazuli during the Renaissance and the later discovery of Cobalt Blue in the 19th century.
It's interesting to see how our ancestors have been trying to perfect the art of creating color since our early history. We've come a long way since using earth and chalk as colors to using synthetic colors.
